Auditions for Summer 2021

Thank you for your interest in Act Up Theatre.  We are looking for brave actors, singers and compassionate individuals to join us for a summer of arts and advocacy.  We are excited to present:

2021 Unsung-version 4

A musical revue of songs from musicals by under represented creators.

AUDITIONS

Auditions will consist of a recorded, prepared song of your choosing, 20-bar maximum.  This song selection should be in the spirit of UNSUNG and include BIPOC, LGBTQAI+, or womxn creators. A list of suggested musicals can be found here

Please consider ethical and inclusive casting practices while selecting your audition material. If a song is sung by a character whose racial/cultural/ethnic identity (when specifically designated by the musical’s creators) does not align with your own and for whom you would not be considered for casting, please choose other material that better represents your background and identity.

All gender identities and expressions, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and physical abilities are encouraged to audition. Natalie Novacek (Curator) is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion in the casting and encourages actors of diverse backgrounds and underrepresented groups to audition.  Please contact Act Up at mark.aamold@gmail.com if audition accommodations are needed.

This is an unpaid opportunity.

The audition form and video submission

can be found here.

Audition deadline is May 14.
